Last month, a 10-year -old girl was arrested in Funtua in Katsina State, along with a man after both were found wired up and on a suicide bombing mission. Many people have been killed lately in Kano, Kaduna and in Borno states by female suicide bombers carrying explosives under their hijabs.
Yesterday, however soldiers from the Joint Task Force (JTF) arrested a man called Ibrahim Ibrahim in Kano, believed to be the girls’ trainer. During the arrest, they picked up 16 of his trainees too and all of them are currently undergoing interrogation.
Sources in Kano said the teenage girls were arrested when security men swooped on the place where they were being trained following a tip-off. JTF spokesman Captain Ikechukwu Eze confirmed the arrest, saying investigations were still ongoing.
