If the crisis currently rocking the major opposition party in the country, the All Progressive Congress (APC) is anything to go by, then, the party might just be heading for the rocks. You would recall that before and after the formation of the party, political analysts were of the views that the party might not see that light of the day, due the ambitions of the major promoters of the party, Gen. Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Only recently,Gen. Buhari has come out openly to accuse some party bigwig and groups within the APC led by Atiku Abubakar, Chief Onu, Chief Ikimi, Alhaji Sheriff and some governors to block me from the ticket.
The leader …of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Head of state, Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari may leave the opposition party if the new members of the party succeded in denying him the President ticket of APC in the 2015 President election.
The embittered former Head of state complained about the various grand plans by APC group lead by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Chief Onu, Chief Ikimi, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff and some APC state governors who bent of ensuring that his name will not be on the ballot paper as the Presidential candidate.
Buhari has earlier complained about the activities of the Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola, who is shopping for a neutral presidential candidate outside him and new APC comer Atiku Abubakar.
Buhari was said to haveThe APC leader reminded Alhaji Bola Tinubu of his sacrifice since the pre and post registration of their party.
“Remember that the major foundation for APC was my presidential bid and not for some new boys to come and hijack the machinery and dictate to us”, the disappointed Buhari said.
Buhari passinately appealed to Tinubu to checkmate the activities of these state Governors, who are working against him aspiration and warned that he will be left with no option than to leave the APC, if unresonably pushed off the APC Presidencial ticket.Biznesswatch reliably gathered that after talks with Buhari, Tinubu was said to have put a call to Fashola, tongue lashing him in the strongest of phrases.
He gave Fashola a direct order to desist from any further search for any other candidate and threatened to make the rest of his tenure rough if he doesn’t desist.
Fashola was said to have reminded Tinubu of the need for them to act in a democratic way to elect the candidates, so as to be presentable to the public.
Tinubu shut Fashola up bluntly and asked him, “Where was democratic way when I made you governor?”
At this Fashola didn’t say anything again.
Tinubu went ahead and told Fashola that if he isn’t careful, he wont finish his term as governor.
To the demoralised Gen Buhari, it is getting certain that he will lose the APC ticket to either Alhaji Atiku or any of the Northern younger candidates, that he refused to mention.
